Platter, platter, on the wall...

Well its finally done! I got the idea from a few different blogs. It seems plates on walls are everywhere these days. Being the dish lover that I am, there was no way I could be left out! I had most of them up last weekend, but I had to wait until I got a couple more plate hangers to finish it up. I think it turned out very nice. All but one of them were thrift store/yard sale finds. Its definitely one of the cheapest decorating projects I've done. Now, if I could just get that hardwood down...

Your bedroom is beautiful. Our bedroom is last on the list as we make our way through our house--I need to be on the lookout for some plates. You did a great job! I love your bed too, where did you get the comforter/bedspread?

Thanks for your comment!
I wish I could tell you where it came from! See, I got the curtains first from Ebay. However, the seller doesn't sell comforters, just curtains and shower curtains (got that too!). So I went on a hunt for the matching comforter, a hunt that turned into weeks. Even though I had the curtain manufacturer's name, I came up empty-handed during my search. So I decided to look up the name of the toile and search that way. Another mammoth search. Found the name of the toile, and finally got to the website of the company that makes the curtains and the bedspreads! Oddly enough, you can't find it by searching for the name on the curtain tag. It has a totally different name that escapes me now (didn't bookmark it). I'll try to find it and I'll post it here.

Here is the site: http://www.home-decorating-co.com/ellis-curtain-victoria-park-black-toile-bedding.html
Can you believe I found it that fast?
I did go with a solid black bedskirt that I found on sale at JCPenney's, though.

Looks great. The white against the red walls really pops. I'm right there with you. Plates on the wall seem to be the in thing. Our grandmothers were so in style before their times.
